Theme for 2012: “Rubies and Pearls”
Generally, the ladies meet at 6:15 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month.
Our meetings are held in the Family Life Center (or Gym) of
New Beginnings Christian Church,
4100 S. Manhattan Ave., Tampa, FL  33611

From the desk of the President
2012 is going to be an incredible year! The theme for 2012 is Rubies & Pearls, derived from the verses 1 Tim 4:12 and Titus 2:3-5. Paul charges Timothy to not let people look down on him because of his youth, but to “set an example for the believers.” In the same way, Paul charges the wiser, more mature (*wink*) women to urge the younger women to love their husbands, be self-controlled, and pure, among other things.

We’re combining the two messages. Every month will blend the older generation with the younger. We have our “Timothy-es” and our “Titus-es” but that didn’t sound pretty, so our Timothy generation is named Rubies for their vibrancy and the mature generation is dubbed the Pearls, as in “pearls of wisdom.”

I believe we can learn a lot from each other, thus the Rubies & Pearls Club was born. We are merging the Secret Sister program with the Prayer Partner program . . . sort of an “un-Secret” Sister.

What is Christian Women’s Fellowship (CWF)? CWF is New Beginning’s Women’s Ministry. The Officers are the leaders voted in at the November meeting the year before. They serve the women of the congregation. Regular monthly “fellowship meetings” are held and are geared to help women build their lives to become God’s perfect design as a woman. Outreach projects and other times of fellowship are also a part of this ministry.

Who can be a part of CWF? All ladies who attend NBCC, their family, co-workers, and friends. This ministry is for women, to help them build a closer relationship with Jesus and each other, and allow them opportunities to enrich the lives of others.

Amazing Women club activities updated - 01-26-12

Rubies and Pearls Club
In 2012 we introduce our new “Rubies and Pearls Club”. Those that are interested have been paired up. A listing of the Rubies and Pearls pairs can be found on the Women’s Ministry bulletin board outside the Women’s bathroom by the Foyer.

February Events

CWF February Meeting
February’s monthly fellowship will be held Thursday, February 2, at 6:15 p.m. in NBCC’s Family Life Center (aka Gym). A meal of Chicken with Yellow Rice, Salad, Cuban bread, and a special dessert will be served for a $3 donation. We will celebrate Friendships, so make sure and invite your BFF to come with you! Please email us if you are coming.

Closed Silent Auction Fundraiser
A closed silent auction will be held from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. in the Family Life Center on Sunday, January 15. We will auction off a special parking spot. This spot will be identified as YOUR spot. Each winner will be able to use this spot for a month in 2012, starting with February. Stay tuned for more information. The proceeds will benefit our ladies’ organization.

“Save the Date” Events

NBCC-wide Annual Picnic – March 31
Our Annual Picnic will be Saturday, March 31. It will be held on the NBCC campus from approximately 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Upcoming CWF Monthly Meetings – March & April
The March fellowship meeting will be held on the first Thursday in March (March 1). However, due to Easter activities, the April fellowship meeting has been changed to the second Thursday in April (April 12).

Annual Ladies Retreat – October 12-14
Mark your calendars now for our Annual  Ladies’ Retreat, Friday – Sunday, October 12-14, to be held in conjunction with Women of Faith in Orlando.
